Oh my God, oh my God – Does praying really work?
Religious symbols and rites are inherent parts of our cultural diversified society and our all day life. The differential beliefs of the religious representatives are often the fuel for heated public debates. But at least there is one thing all religions have in common: Prayers.
Particularly in times of crisis people are asking existential questions and remember God again. Even doctors and scientists believe that faith can move a mountain. But does praying really work?
To get to the bottom of this question Dörthe and Pierre are visiting a quite ungodly place: They are attending Germany’s biggest prison in Berlin-Tegel. Since 20 years pastor Rainer Dabrowski has used prayers in his work here and is deeply convinced of their value. But what do the inmates make out of it? Provides the conversation with the clergyman just a welcome change from the daily prison routine or do they really find their way to God?
X:enius today about near-death experiences, the healing effect of praying and the search for the meaning of life.
